Two ways to connect

Stay rules here means minimum and maximum stay, and no check-in and no checkout days. Of those, Vrbo takes the minimum stay.

How each channel connects, and what moves.

All six are Pro, switched on per listing, and connect through Channex. Before the Connect buttons appear, the app takes you through four checks. What those are.

Airbnb

Sign in to Airbnb from Host Port, then pick which of your Airbnb listings this one is.
On Airbnb
Use the Airbnb account that owns the listing: a co-host login shows no listings. Airbnb won't connect while another channel manager is linked to that account.
Goes out
Nightly prices, open dates, minimum and maximum stay, no check-in and no checkout days.
Comes in
New bookings, changes and cancellations, with the payout Airbnb pays you. Upcoming bookings come across when you connect.

Booking.com

Connect
Make Channex your connectivity provider in the Booking.com extranet, then type your Hotel ID into Host Port.
On Booking.com
Open Connectivity provider from your account menu, search for Channex, pick Channex.io and connect. Your Hotel ID is the 7 or 8 digit number beside your property name. Several rooms under one Hotel ID? Each room connects to its own Host Port listing.

Vrbo

Pro
Connect
Sign in to Vrbo inside Host Port with your Vrbo username and password, then type the code Vrbo texts to your phone.
On Vrbo
You need a Vrbo password: if you sign in with Google, Apple or an emailed code, set one at vrbo.com first. Vrbo allows one sign-in try every 10 minutes, so check your password works there before you start.

Messages
By email. Once Vrbo's message emails come to Host Port, guest messages land in your inbox and your replies go back through Vrbo.

Expedia

Pro

For hotels and B&Bs with their own Expedia Lodging contract. A Vrbo listing already shows on Expedia.com without this.

Choose Channex in Expedia Partner Central's connectivity settings, then paste your Expedia property ID into Host Port.

Rooms and rates, then Connectivity settings. Click Edit and choose Channex for rates and availability and for reservations.

Agoda

Pro

For hotels and guesthouses. Each room connects to its own Host Port listing, under one Agoda property ID.

Connect
Turn on channel manager mode in Agoda YCS and choose Channex, then paste your Agoda property ID into Host Port.
On Agoda
In YCS: Settings, then Property Settings, then Optional Settings.
Goes out
Nightly prices, open dates and stay rules.
Comes in
New bookings, changes and cancellations made after you connect.
Messages
By email. Forward Agoda's guest message emails from your mailbox to Host Port and they land in your inbox; your replies go back through Agoda.

Trip.com

Pro

For hotels and guesthouses. Each room connects to its own Host Port listing, under one Trip.com hotel ID.

Connect Channex in Trip.com eBooking, then paste your hotel ID into Host Port.
On Trip.com
Rates & Availability, then Connectivity Settings. Search for Channex, then Continue and Connect. Can't find Channex there? Trip.com's lodging support can connect it for you.

By email. Set eBooking's customer support email to the Host Port address we give you, and guest messages land in your inbox; your replies reach the guest's Trip.com chat.

Stay rules for the hotel channels means the same as above. Each channel applies the parts it supports.

Per-channel prices, on Pro

Sell the same nights differently on each channel.

Once channel sync is on, each connected channel can move away from your listing's own price, in three ways.

A standing rule

Booking.com 9% above your price with a 2-night minimum, say. Set it once and it applies to every night.

One night, one channel

A price typed onto a single night for one channel. It beats the standing rule for that night only.

Close nights on one channel

Stop selling chosen nights on Booking.com and keep selling them on Airbnb and your own page.

A channel moves relative to your listing's price, so your seasons, weekend price and last-minute discounts still carry through. Set it in the listing editor, or from Price settings on the calendar.

Every other site, free

Any site with a calendar link works on every plan.

Riparide, Hipcamp and the rest connect by calendar link (iCal), and so do Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo on the free plan. Two links per site, one in each direction.

    Paste the site's link into Host Port

    Copy the calendar export link from the site and add it to the listing in Host Port.

  2. 02

    Paste Host Port's link into the site

    Host Port gives you a link for that site. Add it wherever the site imports a calendar.

  3. 03

    Booked dates now move both ways

    Host Port reads the site's link about every 15 minutes. The site reads yours on its own timetable, so allow for some lag.

Booking.com asks for a calendar before it shows you its own link, so Host Port hands you its link first. A link only ever carries dates: every stay on Host Port's link reads “Reserved”, with no guest name. More on the free route on the free channel manager page.

Your own booking page, every plan

The channel with no channel commission.

Every listing gets a booking page on every plan, including Free, and your homes can share one page as your own website. Guests pick their dates and pay by card into your own Stripe account. Host Port takes nothing beyond Stripe's own card fee.

Choose request to book, where you have 24 hours to accept or decline and nothing is charged until you accept, or instant book. Put it on your own domain if you have one. A booking made there closes those dates on your other channels like any other booking.

Before you connect

Connecting overwrites the channel. So it asks first.

A direct connection puts Host Port in charge of that listing's prices and dates on the channel. Four things are worth knowing before you press Connect.

    Your prices replace theirs

    Connecting sends your Host Port prices, stay rules and open dates, and they replace what's on the channel, including prices you set there for single dates.

  2. 02

    Hand blocks stay behind

    Dates you blocked by hand on Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo don't come across. Block them in Host Port too, or they open for booking.

  3. 03

    Four checks come first

    The Connect buttons appear once you've checked your nightly and weekend prices, your shortest and longest stay, prices for public holidays, and direct bookings and days you're not available.

  4. 04

    You choose when it opens

    A newly connected listing stays closed on its channels until you press Open, after one last checklist: every booking showing, every hand block copied, prices right, every site connected.

PriceLabs, with your own account.

PriceLabs

Connect your PriceLabs account to a listing with channel sync, and PriceLabs sets its nightly prices, its minimum stays or both on your connected channels. 488+ more booking sites, through Channex.

On Pro, Browse more channels in the app opens Channex's own marketplace of 488+ booking sites, inside Host Port. Google is one of them, listed as Google Hotel ARI. These connect and are managed in Channex's screens rather than Host Port's, so ask us before you rely on one. The list below is a selection, not the whole catalogue.

Channel questions

Can I connect a site that isn't on this page?

Probably. If the site gives you a calendar link, it works today on every plan. If it is in Channex's catalogue, you can connect it on Pro from Browse more channels. If neither, email us and tell us which one.

Do I have to leave my current channel manager first?

For Airbnb, yes: Airbnb won't connect while another channel manager is linked to your account. Booking.com also takes one connectivity provider at a time, and for a direct connection that has to be Channex. Calendar links don't care what else you use.

Can I connect some listings and not others?

Yes. Channel sync is switched on per listing, at $10 USD a month for each one. The rest stay free, on calendar links and their own booking pages.

How quickly do changes reach a channel?

On a direct connection, changes are queued and sent within minutes. Behind that, the availability queue runs every 2 minutes, every connection is reconciled every 15 minutes, and once a night Host Port checks the whole year ahead against what Channex holds. Calendar links are read every 15 minutes, and each site reads Host Port's link on its own timetable.

Do I need a Channex account?

No. Channex is the channel manager partner Host Port connects through, and you connect from inside Host Port. The only Channex step is on Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda and Trip.com, where you choose Channex as the connection in the channel's own extranet.
